Game Lobbies
Xfire's game lobbies enable you to create a lobby outside of a game from any Xfire group chat. Once you invite your friends to the group chat, they can join in to the lobby as well. When everyone is ready, the host can simply click the "Start Game" button, and everyone's copy of the game will be launched simultaneously, dropping you all into the in-game lobby and ready to start.
Start with any normal Xfire group chat. The user who wants to host the game simply needs to click the join button on the group chat infoview, or select "Host Game Lobby" from the actions menu.
The host will be prompted to select which game they want to start the lobby for. You can start a lobby for any lobby-joinable game supported by Xfire, but only users who have that game installed will be able to join the lobby itself.
Any friends who want to join the lobby must be invited to the group chat. Once there, they can simply click the join button or select "Join Game Lobby" from the Actions menu.
Once everyone is in the lobby who wants to play, the host clicks the button again to launch the game, or selects "Launch Game" from the actions menu. Everyone else's copy of the game will start once the host's game has started launching.
If you've started a lobby you want to stop, just select "Stop Hosting Game Lobby" from the Actions menu. Any individual user can leave the lobby by clicking the join button once more.
